The inclusion of the Birst BI into its product architecture completes the analytics picture for FICO.
FICO is to make the Birst BI solution part of its Visual Insights Studio. For those who don’t know FICO, the company provides an extraordinarily powerful analytics environment that goes well beyond most of the competition. It embraces predictive analytics, prescriptive analytics (process optimization) and business rule creation and management – all in an integrated environment. It’s weakness had been descriptive analytics, otherwise known as BI, although it did offer some capability in this area. The inclusion of the Birst BI into its product architecture completes the analytics picture for FICO.
Birst offers an advanced data discovery and visualization capability that is widely used and highly regarded. This partnership should be good for both companies, although FICO has most to gain by being one of only two or three suppliers who can satisfy virtually all the analytics needs in large organizations – in an integrated environment. It should also give FICO an opportunity to participate more in the ‘eye candy’ competition that has been so successful for suppliers such as Tableau. Oprganizations looking for a sophisticated, integrated analytics environment would be foolish to overlook FICO now that it has integrated Birst into its product architectures.
Here is the yada yada from the actual suppliers:
“FICO is working to democratize Big Data analytics by simplifying the development, the deployment and the management of analytic applications,” said David Ross, senior director of product management at FICO. “To accomplish this, we sought a BI solution that was scalable and accessible across a wide array of devices, available in the cloud, and easy to use, so that business users would not need to rely heavily on IT for support. The Birst solution was a natural fit.”
“Today’s businesses are not going to be satisfied with the dashboard visualizations of yesterday; they want, expect, and frankly deserve a platform that gives them the flexibility to do more with their data,” said Birst Chief Product Officer and Chairman, Brad Peters. “We’re providing that capability so that business users can use cutting-edge visualization tools integrated within a BI platform to easily uncover new insights from their data. By embedding Birst into FICO’s groundbreaking platform, FICO will be able to provide its clients with robust visualization capabilities for the creation of innovative analytics applications, surpassing the standard dashboard functionality of other analytics applications.”
